The Chili Cook-Off is coming!

chili potAttention all Chefs!  This year’s Chili Cook-off is almost here!

The Emmanuel Episcopal Church Chili Cook-Off for 2013 will be held Saturday, January 19 at 5:30 p.m. Everyone in attendance will cast their votes and three judges (anonymous at this point) will add their votes to choose the 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place.

Mark your calendars and plan to come to find the best chili maker around!

Entrants are asked to make one full pot of chili for tasting and eating. Cornbread, salad and dessert will be provided (sign-ups after church on Jan. 6 and Jan. 13).

Parish Picnic – Oct. 30

This year’s Parish Picnic will be on October 30 at Mead Garden.  We’ll start off at 11:00 with worship, then walk over to the picnic grounds for food, fun, and fellowship.  This year Canon Ernie Bennett will be our Celebrant.

Please note that the 8:00 a.m. service will still be at Emmanuel.

Come prepared to have a lot of fun and to eat a lot of food!  See you there!

We Are Emmanuel!

Our Parish Weekend is almost here and the excitement is building!  The weekend begins Friday, September 23 with a Potluck Supper and Talent Show.

Saturday the 24th continues with some bible study, programs talking about our church’s roots and a stained glass window tour, and prayer.

Sunday the 25th will include Eucharist (normal times) and a Ministry Fair.
